I’m Fergus, a musician, technician and sound designer living and working in London.

I studied music at Durham University and have worked in theatre ever since. I was the technical manager at Canal Café Theatre, then the deputy technical manager at Southwark Playhouse, and now work freelance doing anything anyone will pay me to do in a theatre.

I grew up in Canterbury and have been a musician my whole life, starting with piano and violin, then every other instrument I could get my hands on.

I have strong foundations in improvisation and jazz and have played a lot of musical theatre repertoire for soloists and groups. I have worked as the musical director on eleven runs of the award winning sketch comedy show NewsRevue and fifty shows of the five star improvised musical NOTFLIX, alongside many other weird and wonderful projects across theatre, tv and radio.

I’ve always been involved in theatre making from a young age and since moving to London in 2021 I’ve worked professionally across all departments, specialising in sound.

  • I have many qualifications, some more useful than others. They include being a trained ladder inspector, working at height and harness training, IOSH qualification, fire marshal, first aid, dante and eos training. I am very experienced with Qlab, Logic Pro, Ableton and Sibelius.

I also have two grade 8 distinctions in violin and piano, a performance diploma (ARSM) in violin and a music degree.

I am a member of the musicians union.

Nice things that nice people have said about me.
